Privacy and Cookie Policy

Who we are
This policy covers blackjackcalculator.co.uk ("Blackjack Calculator"), a free blackjack basic strategy calculator and strategy trainer. It explains what information is used when you visit the site.
What the calculator and trainer do with your data
Everything you enter in the calculator and trainer is processed in your browser. The cards you choose, your answers, your scores are not sent to us or stored on our servers. We do not have user accounts and we do not ask you for your name or email address.
Information saved on your device
To make the site work the way you left it, it saves a few small settings in your browser's local storage. These stay on your device, are never sent to us, and are only used to run the site. You can clear them at any time in your browser settings.
| Name | What it stores |
|---|---|
| bj-theme | Your choice of dark or light theme. |
| bj-rules | Your table rule choices (dealer soft 17, surrender, double after split). |
| bj-practice | Your strategy trainer score, streak and chosen hand type. |
Advertising and cookies (Google AdSense)
We use Google AdSense to show advertising on this website. Google and its advertising partners may use cookies and similar technologies, and may collect information such as your IP address, browser and the pages you view, to show and measure ads and to prevent fraud. This can include personalised ads based on your visits to this and other websites.
Where the law requires your consent, such as in the UK and European Economic Area, advertising cookies should only be used according to the choices you make in the consent message shown on this site. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the privacy settings link where it is shown, or by clearing the cookies for this site in your browser.
You can find out more about how Google uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, and you can manage your ad personalisation at adssettings.google.com. Google acts as an independent controller of the data it collects through its advertising services.
Hosting and server logs
The site is hosted by Netlify. Like most web hosts, Netlify may record technical information such as IP addresses, requested pages, browser type and time of visit in server logs and traffic statistics to run and secure the service. We use this information only in aggregate to see how the site is being used.
Links to other websites
The site links to responsible gambling support websites such as BeGambleAware and GamCare. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of other websites.
Age
This site is for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have rights over personal data held about you, including the right to access it, correct it, delete it, object to its use and withdraw consent. Because we do not hold personal data from the calculator or trainer, these rights mostly relate to advertising data held by Google. You can use Google's tools above, and you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
Gamble responsibly
This site does not offer real money gambling. If gambling is causing you problems, free support is available from BeGambleAware and GamCare.
